Are the G10 Civilains discontinued as well? They don' t appear in the current 2002 catalog. Or is it back for revamping and will be re-introduced on a later date?

Hi Nakano,

The Civilian and Matriarch are both in the 2002 Dealer's catalog. Neither are listed in the 2002 PDR consumers catalog -- they never are.

Both have been upgraded to VG-10 this year.
 
There are few, if any, pictures of the Civilian or Matriarch in Spyderco's reading material. The shape of this knife just looks too violent. Non-knife people would get even more turned off toward Spyderco, and every aggressive knife-wielder would want one of these. It is a knife designed to fight with, with little or no experience in MBC required.

Carlos: Any idea if the VG-10 mods are shipping yet, or do we have to wait for stockpiles to dwindle on the former ATS blades for a while?
