Hello

o would like to give a try to CIVIVI and I have narrowed my choice to these 2 blades

the backlash is a classic design and it seems to get some good feedback

the brigand appears to be more original and a wharnie style of blade is something I have never experimented

is the brigand a good option or is it safer to stay on the backlash?

I haven't owned a Baklash but I have owned a Brigand. I ended up moving the knife as flippers aren't really my thing most days but I do wish I had that knife still. I would opt for the Brigand for my needs.

I have a Baklash, don't really care about the brigand. Both my baklash and Plethiros are excellent knives, and I have no doubt the brigand is as well. Flip a coin, I don't think you can go wrong.

I have experience with the Baklash. Fit and finish are solid. The action is decent. The blade is thin and slicey. It carries well and feels good in hand. More recent versions have recessed clip screws and that's a nice touch. The Baklash is excellent for what it is. The only thing that kept it from taking over my EDC was that I prefer the Naja. The Naja fills my hand a little better and is a joy to use.

I don't have experience with the Brigand. I watched a few reviews and I don't like how it looks when closed. That might seem silly but I imagine that it would bug me.
