Got mine last week. Very excited. The action on the dark green and Damascus was perfect out of the box. The wood handled one wasn’t smooth at all in the first 50% (initial 90° opening)… may have to take it apart for a cleaning job before I evaluate again.

I got a wood one. Action is nice but has heavy lock stick if flipped open hard

If you need any help from us,would you mind sending us a short video to email sales@civivi.com for a check?

What can i do to lessen the button stick?, and what do you want a video of exactly?
Flipped gently open i can press the button fine, flipped open hard and i have to press pretty hard and there is a 'ting' noise when it releases.
Thanks

Mine is like that too. I'm wondering if it is something that will break in or if that is just a feature of the button lock.

I haven't taken mine apart yet. I generally put all my knives through a "new knife orientation" in which they get inspected, disassembled, thoroughly cleaned* and stripped of factory oil, and lubricated or treated with non-toxic stuff. Lately, I've also been checking them for compatibility with Skiff bearings, which so far have been almost universally superior to stock bearings. Even before doing bearing upgrades, just this little TLC could go a long was towards improving action fresh from the box.

Now, I don't know about an issue like this but I'm sure going to investigate.

* For those who don't take apart new knives, it can be pretty surprising how dirty some knives leave the factory. I've found grit, grime, and even a couple of metal shavings inside of brand new budget knives. Sometimes, I see raised burrs that need fixing, etc. However, this usually isn't an issue with WE, Civivi, Sencut, or the Ferrum Forge knives they make. In fact, all of those knives are top-tier for internal cleanliness. I'll never forget taking apart my first Civivi in 2018 and being blown away by how nice the internals were on a sub-$50 knife.

Cleaned mine up and broke it in a little. Much smoother action now. Also did a blade swap surgery, so my green Micarta handled one can be twins now!

Very nice pics. That's exactly the swap I have planned. I'm just waiting for the green and black model to come back in stock at my favorite dealer. (I got the $7 off coupon for the Civivi website but that doesn't bring their price close to retail.)

I wish they switched up the Damascus pattern. Already have a couple with the same pattern so I got my first wood handle version. Very nice

Been flipping it open with wrist to try and break it in more.. a bit easier but seems to stick slightly more on the soft openings. Also lost a clip screw from the hard openings and gained a snail trail 😯
