The Custom Knife Collectors Association holds their Annual Banquet/Meeting each year on Thursday night before the start of Blade Show at Maggiano's Little Italy right across from the Waverly Hotel-Cobb Galleria.

Last year we had about 100 members in attendance had a great meal and a great time. We conduct a little business (very little :o ), introduce our annual cancer research benefit knife, and conduct a mini-knife show. (full size knives, but only 7 of them ;) :D)

Each year seven of our member makers create a special knife and offer it to CKCA members via the box draw system. It works out well as it gives our member makers a chance show their great talent and meet and get to know collectors who they may not get to meet otherwise. It gives our member collectors a chance to meet and visit with makers and perhaps get a very special knife that they may never get otherwise.

Our seven CKCA member knifemakers for 2011 are:

Karl Andersen JS
Thad Buchanan
Tommy Gann JS
Don Hanson III MS
Dave Lisch JS
Ron Newton MS
Mike Quesenberry JS

The seven knives created by these makers are being photographed by Chuck Ward, so I would like to share them with you as they are finished. A BIG THANKS to Chuck for the beautiful images.

Super integral by Mike. Ron's slipjoint rocks. Can't wait to see more. Lots of talent listed in that group. Will make for a great gathering at Blade.

Wow! These are, IMHO, perfect for the CKCA Mini-Show. It won't be long now - just a few more weeks until BLADE.

That piece from Thad is a schweet mofo!

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

I'm sure glad the CKCA rules allow members, present or not, to be in the drawing. The Thad Buchanan piece is exceptional and I just HAD to drop already. A really great piece, IMHO.
