I had a great time at the Ohio Classic this year.
Like always, we get to spend time with old friends, and meet new ones for later!
Those of us who are CKCA members got together for a quick shot.
Now don't make fun of me - I do NOT know everybody.
Either Larry or Kevin will jump in and back me up here.
I do not know the names of the two fine gentlemen on the ends.
My bad.
The center 4 from left to right are Pete Crowl, ABS J.S., Kevin Jones and Larry Bailey, CKCA Founders, and myself, Karl B. Andersen, ABS J.S.
My hat is off to Larry and Kevin for both representing the knife world so well.
I was honored to share time with them.
As well, Pete is a true craftsman and I am honored to call him my friend.

The Ohio Show was awesome again this year. Larry sure can put on a First Class show. I really enjoyed visiting at dinner Friday night with Karl, Kevin, Larry and my Dad. The gentleman standing on Karl's left is Frank Decola. Frank is a knife dealer and sells some top shelf handle material. His wife Marcia sells some beautiful amber jewelry. Good people.

My good friend Karl won the Best Damascus award with his Beautiful Bowiehttp://www.andersenforge.com/availableknives.html
Congratulations

Thanks Kevin for displaying your Fisk knives, simply Beautiful.

Thank you Larry for all your hard work to put on a Great Show

I wish we could go to every knife show there was. The best part is the people.

Congrats on your award, Karl, and let me just say those are dyno-mite ostrich boots, love the color, love the quill!

I am proud to call Larry Danielkiewicz, friend. He is on the left end of the photo. Larry is a long time Collector Of Wolfe Loerchner.

My first time at the Ohio Classic and I really had a good time. It was quite a bit larger show than I expected.

Enjoyed displaying my Fisk collection as well. Larry was kind enough to let me use
a set of his custom built mahogany displays cases.

Got a chance to meet some makers who are creating very nice knives and collectors from here on the forum.
Some of the makers who participate here are Andrew Takach (atakach) and Burton Harruff (Burton).

Great place to buy handle material. Frank Decola (above, end right) had some outstanding ivory and exotic woods and Jerry Kochheiser always has incredible ivory.
Without a doubt, Amherst Cutlery had one of the best collections of premium sambar stag I have ever seen on a show table (popcorn galore). I had to purchase one of the finest examples.

Also purchased one of Karl Andersen's new "Brut de Forge" knives and can't wait to really break that piece in.
Lots of Case folders there. So I purchased a fine vintage (1973) for a good friend.

Congraulations Karl, Pete and Burton. In addition to Karl winning "Best Damascus" Pete Crowl won "Best Hunter/Utility" and Burton Harruff won both "Best New Maker" and "Best Handforged" awards.

I will be doing a review of this show, complete with photos and listing of all award winners, on the CKCA website in a day or two.

Peter the display is very hard to photo, due to the angle of the glass. But every one will get to see it Blade 2010. Table O-16 in the ABS section.Super Display.

A little more info from the ohio classic. Unlike other shows our attendance was up 14% and sales was up 20%. And we are sold out for 2010 show. thank you tableholders.
