I've had virtually no time recently to even participate around here.
I hate that, even though I'll bet some folks are saying how nice it's been lately with me not saying anything.
Regardless, in the back ground I've been pluggin away at getting all of the CKCA Club Knives done and delivered before the calendar year is done.
This one was nice enough I thought I might share a few photos of one headed off to Switzerland to CKCA Member, Hans Holzach.
Now I'll go away for a couple more months.

I was wondering what happened to you Karl, figured you was super busy makin something. ;)
Very nice work and fantastic hamon. If they all turned out like this, there's going to be a bunch of happy recipients.:thumbup:

Karl and Larry Bailey (our vice-president) have really done a great job on our first
CKCA club knife project. All the knives have turned out beautiful and identifiable as CKCA Club knives, however each a little different as is to be expected from a custom club knife.

We will not create a Club Knife every year but at least every other year. We will not do one in 2011 however we have one in the works for 2012. Details will be coming from the project lead down the road a bit.

These knives are all great - but that has to be the most kickass hamon yet.

Of the knives completed so far, what has the ratio been of hamon vs. plain satin finish?

With only a few left to go, all of the knives - except the prototype - have been W2 with clay induced hamons.
Now, the next three, are 52100.
I will probably do a satin finish on them.
