Clad m4 or equivalent stainless?

I bought an m4 millie and it’s my grail edc. I’m not really looking for any other design anymore. It’s perfect except for one exception, I hate non-stainless in pocket knives. I just don’t want to care for them even in an alloy like m4 which isn’t prone to rusting very fast. Is there any chance there will be an m4 clad in stainless similar to the hap40/sus models?

Otherwise what stainless is closest to m4 as far as edge stability, ease of sharpening and edge quality? I’m not all too concerned with edge holding as long as it’s at least on par with s30v. Heck, maybe it IS s30v? Or maybe aeb-l, elmax or m390?

Just get some edci and apply it to the blade. Then apply it a few more times as time goes by and after use.

Else just get some rex45

CruWear sounds like the steel for you. Acts similar to M4, still technically a tool steel, but I have yet to put any sort of lasting patina on my Manix. It's possible, and from what I've read it'll rust if you decide to not take care of it, but not even close to M4. I'm a huge fan of CruWear.

Has Rex 45 proven to be more stain / corrosion resistant than M4?

Just keep it dry, wipe down after use, and oil the blade once a week and you should be ok. Mineral oil is cheap and works well. Citadel Black is what I use and have had good success with it. For a steel as stellar as M4, I consider this to be minimal maintenance and well worth it.
Another option would be to have the blade coated to aid in corrosion resistance.

M4 with an acid wash/heavy forced patina does quite well for keeping rust at bay.

And there is your answer. Sell your M4 Millie and buy a S30. Problem solved.

I thought cruelest was about on par with m4 for corrosion. I’ll look into that. Thanks.

I may pop this guy apart and get some vinegar on there for now. Thanks guys.

If by "cruelest" you intended to write Cru-Wear...Cru-Wear exceeds the corrosion resistance of M4 by a wide margin. Most reports here and elsewhere indicate that its character renders it "near" stainless with a minimum of care.
