No, it's the typical plastic packaging that all sorts of items come in. The are "molded" so the item fits inside, they use ultra-sonic waves to "weld" the two halves of the plastic together. Half of Wal-mart is in clam-packs, most of their knives if not all.

Hate those stuff, you need the knife (enclosed inside) to open one of those clam packs!
LOL, I know exactly what your talking bout. Why the hell would anyone want that? I thought maybe it was like a pack of accerories or something. I didn't know thats what those stupid plastic containers were called. well now I know. Glad I didn't actually plan on ordering one like that.
