Will Flitz remove the scuff marks that come on the bolsters from the plastic packaging? I can't for the life of me figure out how plastic can scratch the brass on the 110s that easily.

Me either, but I hate clam packs with a passion and am getting close to boycotting knives that come in them. I know why retailers like them, but I hate not being able to handle a knife until after paying for it.

In regards to clam packs, I just ask the counter person to cut them open. Every one of the Dicks Sporting Goods stores I've been to has a display model, with just the card from the clam pack in a small Rubbermaid box. Most of those models started out as floor displays, not originally display models.

I use "The Intimidator" micro-diamond polish, this stuff is the best I've ever seen for putting a shine on brass, chrome, aluminum, gold, silver or whatever. this stuff even takes the blueing off of my motorcycle tailpipes with great ease, this is why I originaly bought it.

Clam packaging is also expensive and we would love to not have to offer it...but such is not the case. When I am out on a knife signing I cringe when someone brings up a stack of clammed knives for me to sign...but with everyone cutting back on sales people the self-service enviornment rules...and we do get a free billboard with every clam card to make our branding statement.

With that said I still like to work counters in dealers where the knives are available to handle before purchase.
