I have read a few times on this forum of makers that are clamping their blades to straight bar stock in order to correct / avoid warping. I am curious about this as I have been getting some slight warping lately. What stage is this done at, during tempering?

Thanks for any help.

Yes, during tempering. Seems to work great. I just forged one last weekend that had a very slight warp. Clamped it to a piece of 5/16" stock and tempered, came out nice and straight.
