Over the years, I've had the question and discussion about clamping Spyderco type FFG knives (or equivalent) countless times. I added a demonstration in one of my videos to make it easier to understand, link below for anyone interested. The link below should take you to the timestamp in my video regarding this topic. This method works for various guided angle sharpening systems clamp types.

I use a dmt aligner system to sharpen, like a lansky but a plastic clamp. It clamps onto FFG spydercos perfectly and repeatablely. Definitely not an issue. I honestly think the angle holds it on tighter than clamping a flat blade.
