Yep I know . It is usually knock , knock , knock . The Clank comes from my mailbox lid being pushed around by the wind . It does not happen in Summer except upon the so rare occasion that I take little notice of it .

My bottom flat is not in a corner or on a corner . It is not terribly exposed at all. The wind can howl and screech here . Just outside my little window . It is not that often . It doesn,t distress me so much as make me in awe . I appreciate its power . The frailness of the walls does not make me feel I have beaten the wind . A force of nature . I get the feeling that I have come to terms with it .

I will sometimes go for walks in the winter wind . Not so often that I seem to be flaunting a superiority or indifference to it . It is more that I can allow the power of it to flow through me . It is not the chill or the force that moves me . It is the seemingly limitless power of Nature .

I do not revel in it . I rejoice with it .

It's howling around here too. Hard enough that it blew off the tarpaper covering the hole in my roof from where we tore out the chimney this summer and never got around to replacing the shingles. So I had to go up there and finally put on the shingles, while the wind blew around me with ~25 MPH gusts. Now my legs ache from straddling the peak of the roof and I have a funny taste in my mouth from kissing the ground once I got back down to it. I got done about 15 minutes ago and am currently enjoying a well-earned beer. House ownership is fun.

gusts today up to 60mph-

i loose power alot since the american company was bought out by britts(national grid) who do no maintinance(just like bp) so i figure today it will go out-

power goes out on 5-6 times a month when its a good one,one week it went out every day -

i dont set my stove or microwave clocks anymore-

We've got a big windchime in our backyard... more musical with the coming of fall, cooler weather. We get more wind out of the north this time of year, so it draws my attention.
