Hello!
I have recently inherited a stag handled knife 8" in length and the only mark on the blade says Clark. It is most definitely handmade and the signature seems handmade too. It's not stamped or cast that's for sure. Any help as to a maker would be greatly appreciated.

Delbert Clark made that knife. He had a machine shop on the edge of Waterloo, Indiana. He passed away several years ago. I have one of his knives in my collection.

Pete,
Thank you so much for helping a newbie out. You rock. I have recently inherited a small collection of knives. Some clearly marked and some unknown. Now I know where to come to get them identified.

Nice looking knife there!

Thanks for the info on the maker, Pete. I picked up a nice drop point at a gun show outside of Ft. Wayne about 15 years ago while driving on my way to a job in Chicago. The knife was marked the same way. I was told by the seller that it was by a local maker, but I never learned his first name.

Hello Pete. I recently picked up two Clarke knives similar to the original posters. Any idea what type of steel Clark used? Quality? Can I actually use this knife without it falling apart in the field? Or is it too valuable/fragile? Thanks for any insight. -Norman

I am his grandson most of the blades were made out of industrial saw bladesyes you can use that knife without the worry of it falling apart I would be interested in purchasing it
