Classic blade and regular handle... is ti possible ?

Hello

I'm seriously considering to buy a Sbenza for my next birthday.... I think for size I'll chosse a small one.

But for model, I've a problem.... I really like the Cassic blade profile the most; but for handles, I prefer the regular model...

So... is it possible to get / order a mixed knife ?... one with Cassic blade and Regular handles ?... they fit among each-other ?

Your best bet will be to order a Regular Sebenza and ask for a Swedge- that will make the blade look similar to the Classic but in a Regular handle.

Buy both...switch blades...use the classic styles blade tip to remove any tight screw you've been needing to get out...Taa Daa, it now fits within the regular handle:D

I have switched mine just to see, and yes the blade will protrude from the handle a 1/16 or so. The blade would have to be re-profiled to fit.

I don't see the difference in blade profiles between the two. I just have a regular, but from all the pictures I can't tell a difference.

Anyone have a decent pic of the differerences?

**edit** I'm finding some threads now...not much different it appears.

Keith is playin' with you a bit here :) . If you switch blades, not only will the blade be too long as Keith is saying, but swapping out any blade from ANY other sebenza will very likely make for a poorly fitted lock, since Sebenza blade/handle pairs are custom fit. As a result, blade swapping can make for a dangerous situation. Not surprisingly, it voids the CRK warranty.

I get it now... so Classic blade doesn't fit in Regular handles... :( that's exactly what i wanted to know for sure...

Thanks Keith for conducting the experiment... :thumbup: now I know that can't be done... even if ordered to CRK...

Its more evident in the Large Sebenzas then the Small:thumbup:
 
Interesting enough though...when I did switch mine out, the locks did go to the same position as they did before with their original blades.

This may just be that my two are just that close to a match, others may not lock up as well...
