Very cool, thanks for posting this up for us Joe. Never heard of the guy, but I'm a fan now.
 
Damn I enjoyed that Joe. I've seen him in Backwoodsman a few times. Fascinating fellow.
 
He stays off the radar, but is a great source of knowledge, he wrote the book "Practicing Primitive", and was one of three consultants for the movie "castaway". He's also been on the cover of backwoodsman several times, yet there isn't an egotistical bone in his body, such a joy to listen to. I think the knife he had on him at that point was a Helle with a stacked handle.
