Classic clip issue

I just bought a Sm LH Classic a few months ago and never really played with it until just now. I notice that the clip isn't completely snug and can be moved with moderate finger pressure. I noticed it when I opened it and the clip moved under my fingers. I have several Sebbies and it doesn't seem like any of the others are like this. After reading a recent thread about how some people can't even get the clip out I thought I'd ask if this is unusual. I also noticed that the hole on the scale and the hold on the clip don't line up 100%. Compared to my other CRK's this one has a pretty poorly f&f clip.

I'd rather not have to ship it to CRK and pay all the shipping and whatever it takes to make it right on a knife I just recently purchased. Since it's a classic it's not like the dealer I got it from has another to trade it out for.

I'm carrying a LH Sm 21 so this isn't my EDC where I need to have a clip issue resolved immediately. Had I not remembered it out of the blue and got it out of the box tonight I wouldn't even know this issue existed until later.

Thoughts? Ideas? Just live with it?

I have only seen one instance or this on you tube, someone was reviewing a large sebenza and the clip could be moved from side to side, i haven't really carried or used my small 21 much, was the sebenza used? maybe the clip has been caught on something and moved a bit, my small 21 sebs are very tight in the space very closely fitting.

Id take it off and see what the deal is. They aren't that hard to take off. just make sure you have the allen wrench in all the way so you don't gum up the screw

if its moving side to side it'll pop out pretty easily.

it almost sounds like the previous guy might have cross threaded the screw.

Clip quick-fix. It's held my Seb clips securely without any movement in the handle recess for 9 years of EDC.

It was purchased new recently. I'm guessing new old stock. The company I got it from is good about listing items as new or used.

The reason I asked if anyone else has seen this is because I have a total of 16 Sebenza's and this is the only one I've seen this in.

I did take the clip off thinking maybe it just wasn't tight. Before I took the clip off I noticed that the screw wasn't flush. It is at an angle. So I took the clip off and made sure there wasn't anything in the pocket. Put the clip back on and noticed that the hole on the clip doesn't line up with the hole on the scale. I put the clip back on because the screw goes in just fine and tightens up. But even with the screw tightened down the clip still has side to side play.

I went ahead and emailed CRK about it to see what they have to say. Like I said, I hate to pay shipping again on a knife I just got but I have a classic micarta that could use a trip to the spa, so maybe I can send them both at the same time.

Well as I mentioned I emailed CRK and as would be expected from a company with excellent customer service, Heather got right back to me. She's going to send me a clip and screw to see if that corrects the issue.
If the holes weren't misaligned I'd just do the fix mentioned above. But now that I know the screw is at an odd angle with the current clip I don't trust it and well, it's a Sebenza, it shouldn't have that issue. (Not a criticism, a comment to the QC on all the rest of the CRK knives I have.)
