A fellow forum member contacted me concerning a custom build, and even sent me a drawing with specs to follow. This was the end result, and I am pleased with the turnout. It is a fixed blade version of the classic clip point pocket knives. Thanks for looking!

That purple heart is beautiful! Did you add a finish of any kind?

Love the purpleheart. I’ve got a bowie order with a purpleheart handle coming up. I mostly use it on kitchen knives.

Thanks guys. David, I don't claim to know what finish is best for what wood. I tend to do just what works. For the handle, I applied one coat of Watco Danish oil. I then let it sit in the sun for an afternoon, which really brightened up the purple. After that, just a couple wax coats.
