Classic Inlaid Sebenza? On Ebay

Oh man, here we go!!!

I'm not in inlay fan, although I am being continually tempted with the great woodies everyone shows here. That is one classy looking inlay though. The blue on grey is very nice.

Handled one of those at the Blade Show. They are extremely nice. Probably the lightest large Sebenza I've ever handled to boot.

If anyone was waiting to make a bid towards the end of this auction, you will be in for a disappointment.

I have never seen a seller ending an auction early. "Nah, $475 is enough, I don't want any more money."

Must have been in a hurry. I'm sure it would have gone for more.

I must be missing something. The guy talked Chris Reeve out of it because he "HAD TO HAVE IT" then sold it a month later? I read he's a dealer and all, but it sure sounds personal when one says, "I have to have this!"

No skin off my nose, just will never get used to the way some folks can think of knives as "units" like car dealers talk about cars. (Expecially CRK knives)

I am very surprised by this early end to the auction!

I was sure that this would go for $550-600 at least.

I have purchased several from this seller and they have always been on the up and up and I did not know that they could even end an auction early. I guess that you can, but I do not know why you would?

Sure was pretty, though. I wish it had been a left-handed one. I am so looking foward to the arrival of mt lefty large walnut inlay coming soon and next year my small ironwood inlay.

Oh, the Horror- Waiting!

I handled it at BLADE also...very nice piece.....Hate to see it just go off on auction so quick........Such a cool piece. I am going to beg for the next one by CRK like that, if there ever is one :)

I was told that they would like to continue doing this type inlay. They were a little unsure how the rayskin would do in the inlay. Since natural materials do odd things with changes in humidity and temperature I think these were tests of sorts. If the rayskin is stable enough then I hope we see more. I wonder if it would be possible to stabilize the ray skin without making it look like plastic?
