We've all seen the "classic" themed threads here; classic Spydercos, classic Benchmades, etc. What I don't recall ever seeing is a "classic Kershaws" thread.

So, what Kershaw knives do you consider "classic Kershaws"? A sentence or two of explanation why you consider it to be so will be appreciated also.

I'm afraid I don't know enough about Kershaws to start it off, but I hope to learn a few things about Kershaw knives as the result of this thread.

Well, I guess I'll weigh in here. I think that, even though they're not that old, the Chive, Scallion, and Leek are working there way to that status. They truly are the mainstays that you see everywhere there are Kershaws.

I'd have to say that Kershaw's "Liner Action" knives are their classics.

Those are new Kershaws, since Ken Onion came on board. Here's a thread with really classic Kershaws: Kershaw Titanium.

Yes, those Liner Actions are classics. Dangerously sharp little razors, too. :)

The liner action Liner ( as pictured above) are classics to me ( I now have over 40 of them) the three models 2410, 2415, 2420, where all great with the larger 2420 being my EDC for years. The Tanos bladed ones I did not like, but the rest were great. There were many knives before the liner action models in the Kershaw line, but to me they are classics....

I would consider the DWO a classic, my dads had one for a long time. I have have a few laying around myself. Also the folding hunter that is another classic.

Now you are going to get me started ! I have a few opinions about Kershaw classics. When I get back from my fishing trip I will post some replys and photos in this thread about the 1400 series, 2100 series and many others. I have been collecting them for some 27 years. They have made some great knives over the years !!

ive got a kershaw linerlocker and it is probably the sharpest knife i own.
takes an edge very easily and scary sharp.
dont know if id call it a classic but its super light and the lock up is good.
very easy to carry around, hardly know its there :)

I have to say something else about the Liner Action. A friend of mine was interested in knives and asked if I could get him a small, sharp, durable knife to cut packaging and cardboard. I got him a Liner Action and he's been hooked ever since, picking up good knives of his own now, but never beating that Kershaw edge. (The latest I got for him was the Storm II).

Oh, his brother got the Liner Action from him and now he's into knives, too.

Not really classic, but good knives - Starkey Ridge and Talon.
