What knives do you consider to be "classic"? Two that come immediately to mind are the Marble's Ideal pattern, and the Grohmann Russell Belt Knife. What other models would y'all put in the classic category?

Is that Barlow a Great Eastern? Just ordered my first two to see what they're like -- I've heard good things about 'em.

It's a Tidioute so yes it is a GEC. Just learning some of these things myself. I got mine last week and can't stop fiddling with it. It is a very well put together slippie. Great Solid feel and I could not be happier! I just ordered a Canvas Micarta 2blade Trapper from Tidioute as well. I'm Stoked to get it! You should be happy!!!

Pretty much most slippies with natural handles. Also the buck style of lockback knife, clip point hunters, traditional bowies, and the Kabar.

Victorinox Classic. It's the knife that's been part of my collection the longest.

Spyderco Calypso Jr / UKPK / Caly 3. I think this is one of the best knife designs ever, whichever variation you get. Definitely a modern classic.

My usual EDC is a Benchmade Mini-Griptilian, but I've been on a seach to find a favorite slipjoint to carry as a secondary. So far the top contenders are Moore Maker and the the D2 Queen trappers, but I'm hopeful about the Great Easterns.

This is the 3 3/4" Trapper I just purchased. I have had a thing for Sodbusters as of late and this will fit right in with the couple I have. The Canvas Micarta Sold me in an instant!!!

Let's not forget the scandis!! Puukkot and Leukkot (Spell check) and the Mora style knife have been around for hundreds of years...I'd call that a classic.

Any traditional slip joint pattern.
Buck 110
Marbles Trailcraft
Victorinox Swiss Army
Benchmade AFCKs
Spyderco Endura
They're so many I could come up with but these are just the tip of the ice burg!

Another vote for the Buck 110.If that's not a classic,I don't know what is.

Also the Case boyscout,as it was the first knife I ever had, waaay back in 1980:D...wish I still had it.

I guess we can include inexpensive jack knives (Imperial and others) that used be sold in Hardware stores.

Barlows are classic s as stated above...always nice to have a couple around the house or in the pocket....

All good examples of classic knives ya-all have listed. I love the various Sodies and Scandi's including my Mora's (Swedish), Helle (Norwegian) and IIsakki Jarvenpaa (Finnish). I'm with Frostyfingers; the scandi's have been refined over hundred's to a thousand years and are made to work and work well! Can't get much more classic than that.

Argueing with a Biker is like wrestling with a pig.
