Classic leather care?

I tried to look this up with the Search function, but was unable to find it.
What is the recommended care for the leather inlays on the Classic handles?
Will "mink oil" help in waterproofing?, Leather cream?
Or just leave them be?
Any suggestions from owners or Anne?

Neats foot oil is great!@!
Mink oil is a little sticky

Maybe PM Lifter and see what he says (he's amazing with leather!). He gave me some great guidance on sheaths. Not sure it it would be the best for your use though.
