Guys,

Terry Primos' work needs little introduction around these parts. I had the great pleasure of doing a shot for Jerry Oksman of his Bowie. This knife needs to be seen and studied as an example of simple, classic and clean. We don't get to see as much of Terry's damascus as we would like--or his sheaths. What a package!

Going further, I did another shot which shared all the fineries. Of course, it's 100% busy, but that's the intention. :)

Jerry and Terry: Congrats to the BOTH of you!

I was going to say something, but when I saw these pictures, all that came out was some kind of gurgling sound, because of all the drooling.

I say, "Gotdamn", that's a sweet bowie!"

Yep, the boy's gettin good. Makes me wish I had about 3-4 knives on order with him. Oh wait, I DO have several knives on order!

:)

Classic is right. Terry got absolutely everything right with this knife. Profile and proportions are spot on. Nice wood handle (ironwood?), beautiful damascus and a first-rate sheath. Great package. Great photo too!

Cheers,

Roger

Pretty damn fine, the mosaic pins are a nice touch on the handle ....... Whats the blade and OAL?

That's another bowie that I can't help ogling at. What a masterpiece!

Coop,

Thanks for sharing your top notch photos. Terry really outdid himself with this piece. Except for some fancy folders I don't care much for filework either, but that pattern is really eye-catching. Great job guys.

Ditto my feelings on filework. I usually don't like them but this one goes very well with the knife.

Thanks guys. :)

Also, thanks Jerry, for giving up your knife for a while to get the shots done.

And Coop, a BIG thanks to you bro. Man you've got this knife photography thing down. Not everyone knows how difficult it is to do right.

Coop sent me some prints, and WOW. The images on the net are great, but when you see the actual photos, it's a whole new experience.

Coop, man, great photos! To any beginner picture-takers out there, the thing that blows me away is how Coop's shots handle dark areas and light areas. Sometimes a picture from others shows the handle well, then blows out the hightlights in the blade. Then vice versa happens in other shots. Coop's shots are like the way the human eye sees things - great detail in both the dark and light areas, making for one hell of a picture. And to think the ones above are normal 72 dpi for on-screen viewing makes it even more unbelievable.

Is it me, or is his head a little bigger than it used to be in that banner at the bottom of his post???? :p :) :p

The essence of an elegant knife.
