Anyone have recommendations on these?. Looking for one with a high quality glass lens and a nice wooden handle, but a stainless steel one would be okay too. It will be used for reading books with small print at nighttime, so my eyes don't fatigue as fast and lose track of what line I'm on. ;)

Weight: Less than 4 ounces
Width: 3"-3.5"
Length: 6" max
Magnification level: 2x-3x

Don't go more than 2X !
The other features ? I'd be surprized if you could find glass and stainless steel !

Not sure about the sizes, but I bought a very high-quality optical-glass from Nikon. Google Nikon Magnifying Glass.

You can still find older Bausch & Lomb magnifiers with glass lenses at reasonable prices. Most modern lenses are acrylic. I saw some made by Zeiss that were nice and had
an anti scratch coating. They come in various powers and as you would expect, quite expensive. The lenses are polycarbonate.

I appreciate all the responses guys. I went a totally different route and ordered myself a Carson SureGrip, model SG-10.
