Classic or 21?

I am ready to buy my first Sebenza. I prefer the look of the Classic over the Regular; I find the Regular looks a little busy, compared to the Classic. Do owners of both find the Regular more comfortable?

Does it make sense to wait for the 21 to become available, or just pick up a Classic now? Does anyone out there not like the new contours of the 21?

After reading and thinking, I am now leaning towards a small regular for my first Sebenza. Like some have mentioned, I can always pick up a 21 later on down the road.

Thanks.

have you handled any of these? I didn't like the looks of the reg sebenza at first either, but it felt better in my hand, so I went with it, and have been really happy with it, so I would say go to a shop that has them, grab 'em, stuff 'em in your pocket, try 'em out, see what fits in your hand best. and it looks to me like the 21 is a more specialized type knife, geared towards emergency personell, something like that. I'm stickin with my reg.
good luck, and I really doubt you'll be dissapointed any way you go

If it were me, I would buy the classic for three reasons....

#1 They are currently available with No firm release date on the 21 and I am not very patient
#2 The classic is about to be discontinued and you won't have it as an option later--you will be able to buy 21s for a long time
#3 The classic is VERY similar to the 21--for a user, not much difference that I have seen

Just my .02

Pick a classic now... or a regular and after use save it, it may be a collector's item in a lot of time. If you want to wait for the new Sebenza 21... be sure you have to wait a lot of time, like months for sure.

I LOVE the Classics. The Sebbies I have are both Classics.

I DO intend to get a small 21. I prefer the small ones, as they are PERFECT for EDC.

I thought the only difference was the chamfering? If so, why does it matter? You are going to use it anyway right?

I will use it, not for EDC, as I work in an office. I was thinking of using it for hikes, out in the sticks, etc.

TNK is a couple of hours from my house, maybe a trip is in order, as I have never played with one.

I am ready to buy my first Sebenza, and I have narrowed the choice to either a large Classic, or a large 21. I prefer the look of the Classic over the Regular; I find the Regular looks a little busy, compared to the Classic.

With the exception of the limited edition regular Sebenzas (75 pcs in large, 75 pcs in small per year), the Classic 21 is the only Sebenza style (in both large and small sizes, left and right, of course) that is being made now. Many of the CRK dealers have Classics available in their inventory, and if they don't have Classic 21's, they will very soon. As a result, for a short while you can grapple with this decision.

At the Blade Show, all the Sebenzas we had to sell were Classic 21s (yeah, technically we had two 2007 LEs, but they got snatched up in a heart beat). The Classic 21 style was well received. Since we didn't have any Classics with which to compare, many folks didn't notice the difference until it was pointed out.

Dave

Not a bad idea, Neil is allright and he has a lot in stock to choose from.
It could be a bit tempting.

Honestly I don't like the look of the new chamfering around the pivot area. While it would not affect my decision to buy another Sebenza, given the choice I'd pick the Classic 2000 over the Classic 21 any day.
