A month or so ago, I picked up a combo edge BM 705 in the discount bin at Grand Prairie. The price was too low to say no, so I got it. Although I love Mini Griptillians, and i want an Aeromedix Mini Grip, the old 705 makes a really fine pocketknife. It is geniunely pocket sized which makes for good carry in many environments. Everybody already knows how slickly axis lockers open and close. What I really enjoy is the combo edge blade. I know many folks don't like them, but I enjoy using mine for daily utility. That bit of serrated edge is so handy for initiating cuts on tough or thick material. From a practical standpoint, it makes the sense in the world. I know that a plain edge looks better, but for a real user in a day to day environment, combo edge makes alot of sense. I had a 707 for minute, but I may get one again just to keep my 705 company.

I am planning on dropping by Grand Prarie too. I hope I get as lucky as you did! Thats a good knife you got.

I must be getting old fast if any of them new fangled axis lock folders are considered "classic".

I prefer the 707 to the 705, I felt the 705's handle was just too thick and I like the blade on the 707 better as well.

I admit that the wider 707 has a better blade profile, but I really like the compactness of the 705. Unlike many "tactical" style knives, it is a real pocket knife, and not just a folder.

Anthony - nothing wrong with the old 705... I carry one in each rear pocket, mirror image placement of the clip for a mirror draw... one black blade with partial serrations and one plain blade w/o serrations... I pry with 'em ( ), cut down blackberry vines as I walk around town... and they don't raise too many eyebrows 'cause they're smallish...
Great blades! :D

I do something similar myself.

A 707 in left front, and a 710 in my right front.

Not quite equal, but the 710 handles the dirty cutting and the 707 is for when sheeple are around.

I love both, even though they are quite different in style.

Hey man I am one that hated combo edges.. but I just received my 705 SBT and I really like this one.. the serrated part cuts alot better than knives I have had in the past with combo blades.. and I really like the axis lock and ATS-34 steel used.. this is my first BM and I am hooked.. It is very compact
