I could not find a thread on Classic Vehicle's so thought I'd start one.
I'm no Pro so my definition of classic is pretty loose

What do you have?

We own a Ford Model T, specifically a 1917 touring. Had her out yesterday giving rides to some of the kids at our family party. She gets out a couple times a week during the summers to local cruise nights. Here is a pic of a similar model, though this one is a few years "newer"... likely an early 20's.
 
Asking for a definition of "classic car" is like asking for a definition of "custom knife". Let the games begin! :D (I'm assuming my baby, an '89 Mustang GT ragtop, doesn't qualify...yet? ;) )
 
I have a 77 MGB sitting in the shop waiting restoration, and waiting, and waiting......

SOME DAY I will have both the time and the money to work on it I hope but in the meantime if someone came by with money I would let it go....let's be honest, I just don't have the time to work on it and make knives full time.
 
PowerPasta, that is one gorgeous truck! :thumbup: All stock, I assume? (Saw a guy yesterday with a beautiful, Creme-Yellow Ford Galaxie 500XL ragtop in Windsor - just like the one my late mother had - and it was completely stock...except for the chrome wheels from Wal Mart. I almost cried.)
 
If it wasn't for all the rust, messed up interior, and faulty wiring. My 1969 Malibu would be a classic. :D
 
My wife had a 1960 Jaguar XK 150 Coupe. Father-in-Law had a 1954 Jaguar XK 120 roadster. Fun to drive, not so fun for upkeep.
 
any corvettes a classic imho, i have a '95 LT1, only 40K miles too (i got it new) the car i had before the vette also would be a classic a '71 Z/28 4spd.

Does those plates mean it's registered as a Classic?

In KY, if the vehicle is over 25 years old you can get an "antique" license plate, which has some kind of benefit (I'm not sure what) relating to paying property tax and registering the vehicle each year. :thumbup:
 
My father is an automotive upholsterer, so I grew up around a lot of car guys when I was a kid, working in his shop doing odd jobs. While I can appreciate a classic, I've never been much of a car guy except for old coupes, and old trucks, 1955 or earlier, in addition to lowriders from any period. The old Chevy 3100s are my favorite trucks, then the Internationals, Packard trucks etc. I've got a ton of diecast trucks somewhere.

Seeing the amount of time and money put into these cars, and the stories these guys (my fathers age, late 40's and early 50's) tell about racing on the old country roads before the area got "built up" is pretty cool. One that stands out is how the cops would close down the main highway, Baltimore National Pike/Belair RD/Conowingo RD (all the same highway, just different names the further north you got) for drag racing on Friday night.

Carlisle auto shows are pretty cool. Anybody got any links to Barrett Auto Auction clips?

I had the same car in College and found this minty B on Ebay a couple of years ago. Put some twin SUs on it and a hot coil and am good to go.

Everywhere I go people stop me and tell me a story about an MG from their past.
 
I used to drive a '65 Baja Bug. Wide eye. Rebuilt 1600 single port. Adjustable front beam. Roof mounted oil cooler inside a scoop. 205s up front, 235 out back. It's still in the garage. Haven't gotten around to welding in new floor pans or selling it. It's a blast to drive but it's a total death trap.

Just last year the wife was driving a '65 Plymouth Valiant. One of the few to roll out of the factory with a 273 v8/ console shifter instead of the Slant 6/ pushbutton tranny. When the diff went out we got rid of it. It was a great beater but needed way too much work to be a good project car. Dents, rust, shot bushings up front, thrashed front seats and carpet. Still, I was sad to see it go.
 
A fully restored 66 GTO here. My parents bought it new and it still sits in the same heated garage since it was new. Once in a while ill take it to a cruise night .
