Here's one I just finished right in time for hunting season. :) This has a very slight and subtle upsweep to the point, I guess making it a trailing point of sorts. This one is slim in hand but quite stout in the blade. It would take a beating.

Claude Scott provided the fine leather sheath for this.

Specs:
Hand forged from 1095 steel, differentially hardened with time and temp control of my salts.
8 1/4" overall, 3 3/4" blade, .220" at the ricasso with a full radical distal taper ending in a very nice point
800 grit bright hand satin finish
Bronze collar, carved and textured
African Blackwood handle, contoured w/palm swell and carved/textured
Textured bronze finial
Heavily Rounded spine and ricasso edge for comfort
Rounded filed thumb grip

All comments and discussion welcome.

Beautiful, clean little knife right down to its matching pommel nut. I particularly like the ribboned stippling on the handle. A very well executed, practical and artful touch that upgrades even your other little touches of detail. Claude's wonderful sheaths are a perfect complement to your work.

This is one I really like that you have done John. I have seen your knives a number of times at different shows and this one really stands out. Everything about it is very slick and sleek and has many nice things about it including the blade, collar, handle and terrific sheath. Something any collector would enjoy having, carrying and displaying either at home or showing to others. Well done.

Thanks much guys.

Murray, thanks for the nice post. I appreciate it. This one is available and I will ship to Canada. ;) :D

Thanks again all.

well, John, I saw it was available and was tempted but right now I have a quarterly income tax bill coming due so am resting my bank account at the moment

i like how the light upswept echoes the "lowswept" in the handle's butt :)
And as always your craftmanship level is top perfect!

Thanks again for taking the time to post guys.

I went to your sales thread, and was prepared to proclaim "I'll take it!"
Inspiring little knife, John :)

Lorien, this is a bummer. Sorry man. You were a day late. Send me an email sometime and I'll add you to my list. We should chat sometime anyway.

In the rare event that I have a knife come up for sale, it usually doesn't last very long at all so you have to be quick. :) I appreciate that you liked it enough to buy it though.
