I run a chiller plant for a data center and use a knife daily for various tasks. While my folding knives easily handle opening packages, I prefer a fixed blade when having to carve up cardboard boxes for disposal. As most of my fixed blades have 3" to 5" cutting edges and my work sometimes takes me into the office areas, I leave my knives in the plant so as not to make the office personnel uncomfortable at the sight of a large [to them] sheath knife on my belt.
So a few months ago I emailed Mike Morehouse of Zander Knives and asked if he could make me something that would appear non-threatening so I could wear it all day, but large enough to handle the heavier tasks required of it. As the other items on my belt are black, I asked him to make a black micarta handle and black leather belt sheath, so as to blend in as inconspicuously as possible.
Using 3/16" D2 steel, this is what he came up with. I think it will work out just fine.

Here are some more pics. Thank you Jack for allowing me the freedom with this design.

That's a handy little knife design. Nice execution on the dovetail bolsters and tapered tang.:thumbup:

That's one functional and tough knife but looks harmless. Like the proportions of the blade and handle. Beautiful and very well made belt sheath as well. Excellent work!
