Claude Bouchonville Kolton

Joe

That's cool - looks like an integral, no? I've only seen the "standard" Koltan fighters before !

Killer ironwood

totally in love with this piece

I need to take a writing class or start reading a lot more.....I consistently lack the vocabulary to express how I feel about the creations we see here. This certainly falls into that category.

Very simple and clean in appearance, flowing from tip to butt without interruption. Yet we all know how much experience and crafsmanship was required to build this piece. Love the way the blade transitions into the integral bolster, then switches to that gorgeous, sculpted, ironwood handle. Perfection, to me. The contrast between the Damascus and ironwood (burl?) works so well, in my opinion, and then the patterns of each also seem to complement each other. I love this piece. No fair waving high grade, under the nose of an addict, Joe. But thank you.:D

P.S. I never think about thievery, but I don't know that I could let go of this one if ever I had the chance to handle it.

For anyone who scoffs at the idea of a guardless fighter let this integral Koltan be exhibit A for the defense. Pay particular attention to the sculpted handle. Claude has spent a lot of time on the planning and design of his handles, with grip retention and comfort being front and center. Anyone who has held one of his Koltan fighters knows exactly what I'm talking about. The sweeping edge and aggressive point of the blade are equally purposeful, and that damascus paired with such an exquisite piece of ironwood, well that's just pure art...

beautiful knife. love the blade shape which as Roger commented is interesting with a lovely flow to the integral bolster flowing to a wonderful handle. Nicely displayed also. Great acquisition for anyone.

Wonderful flowing curves, very nice damascus and beautifully carved handle. Thanks, Joe, for sharing Claude's work. His style is refreshingly distinctive. I like it a lot.

Claude's style is unmistakable and his work is fantastic....very proud to have an example of his superb work.

Joe,

Thanks for showcasing Claude's work, I'm a fan.

This is definitely a great looking Fighter.
Really dig the overall shape and damascus and handle combo.
Stabby point, scary edges.

Did you get a Fighter, Dudley ?

Beautiful piece. The integral guard, wide swedge, beautiful lines throughout.

Yes, incredible knife.
Claude, definitely has the knack for creating artistic and ergonomically pleasing designs.
He has quite a wood stash as well, his handles are always so beautiful.
