Claude bouchonville shop visit

[Yensy Parmentier]

Last week i had the privilege to visit Claude's shop and witness him forging two blades from start to finish. What a down to earth and easy to talk to guy this is.

Claude started with blacksmithing about 35 years ago and is a fulltime bladesmith for 18 years now! His way of doing things old school as much as possible, makes me look at him as Europe's Adam Desrosiers...lol

Good pics, but you missed the rolling mill. I try to describe that old "flatbed" hydraulic press to folks, but you really have to see it. Claude has managed to jam a LOT of gear into a fairly compact space!!

Love Claude's work! That stash of wood and handle material looks like it wood be a dream to be able to choose from, from knife to knife. Thanks for sharing!

A couple years ago I somehow managed to stumble across a couple of gems with Claude forging and finishing a knife in his shop over in the french section of Youtube. I'll go ahead and share them as it seems appropriate, but let me know if you'd like me to remove them for any reason, Yensi, as I don't want you to feel like I'm hijacking your thread.
