Clay Gault Passes

The Fine old Texas Knife maker Clay Gault has passed away. Clay was one of the old ones. His folders and work with Vasco Wear, and Ram horn is legendary. Saturday evening after the Spirit of steel show closes for the day, there was to be a ceremony to induct Clay into the Texas Knife Makers Hall of Fame. Many of his fellow makers were very excited to see Clay honored in such a way. It has been a long time coming! The award will still be given. I can only hope Clay is there with us to see it. Clay has allways been there for me when I needed a little advice. I'm gonna miss the old Boy. Clay was one of our favorite people. Mike and Manuela

Clay gave me instructions on how to do mortise tang handles. He was the first one that I noticed that made such. I always appreciated that he took time to show me.
