Just a question for the pros here. I was thinking about a Claymore style sword, not sure why but want one anyway. I have looked at the offerings by CAS and Knights Edge. Is one better than the other or are there others I don't know about, or am I just out of my mind? Please help me on this one. I don't want to spend a fortune as I am not independently wealthy. Thanks.

Wellll I don't really consider myself a pro but I can answer that one.
What do you want the sword for? Is it going to be exclusively sitting on your wall or what? If I had to choose one of the two I'd get the CASI one not the Rittersteel one.
If you want a good sword I would say:
The short answer is none of the above! The ones from knightsedge are mady by Rittersteel. Everything I've heard about them indicates their items are drastically overweight and poorly balanced. CASI seems to be hit or miss but at any rate is at the low end of the production sword totem pole. If I was going to buy a claymore it would be this one:

Thank you for the advice Triton!! I was looking for something more than just a wallhanger but want it to look good for sure! I tryed the link but came up with nothing. Perhaps off line or what ever. Is there a phone number or other site? Looks like what I had in mind. I don't mind paying a more if I getting a noticeably better product.

Thank you very much for the enlightenment today. I like swords and khukuris. Have some of both. I like them to be "real" even if I have no plans to go to battle. Wallhangers don't interest me much. Yes it works now and I do like this site! Thanks for the help there Keith and Triton. I guess the HI experience helped get me hooked on the swords. As a matter of fact the basic Katana pictured on the Andale shopping site is the one I have. Like the HI swords but thought it might be nice to have a Claymore.

..and there's plenty of swords from the classical eras, and then there's asian and filipino, and islamic and indian blades, and ...the lis is endless!

Have a few of the Asian style blades by Himalayan Imports. I edited the post from yesterday as I meant to type katana instead of Khukuri. Oh well. Had to take a rules test yesterday and was kind of out of it after that. Sorry Rusty but the claymore pictured above is pretty nice. Might have to save up for that one. Might even have to give up khuks for a while.
