Will the CLB line of folders ever offer a chisel-grind? How about a Sprint-Run, down the road? :)

Sorry, DP.
WHAT!! 41 hits and not One response! Is the chisel-grind that unpopular?? I guess so. Man, one of my favorite folders is a CG. Chad, do you like the CG? I'm afraid to ask! :)

How does a chisel grind improve cutting performance compared to a V grind in your opinion?

Calling me name?;):D

I'm quite keen on CGs if they are on the right side, you know, left/right. Like !/ Oh, for the record, I'm right-handed.

VIVI---Both grinds cut very well and the V grind blade will not pull on the cut(s) like the CG will. I just like the CG for it's tradition, simplicity and ease of sharpening.
MOI---It's cool---no name calling---you Knut! :)

Potterma---Yup! MAYBE Chad will think about it but I don't see it happening. Not enough of a demand. Thanks for your vote!

Yo Lycosa!

Sorry I'm late for this party...as for "CG"...

Lemme just say that one of the BEST I ever used was in the form of a CRKT Ed Halligan STIFF K.I.S.S.!!! I had the original tanto version and it was my steady dive knife companion! I could get that thing Lightsaber Sharp!!!

However, some folks just do not like the CG due to the difference in opinion on grind angles and the drift they can cause during a cut. BUT, IMHO...they are easy to resharpen and on a "working knife", I love them. Shoot, sometimes just a good stropping on my wetsuit believe it or not, brought back the edge on that STIFF KISS!!!

Um, be advised that any of my designs can be had in CG if the Boker allows.;)

God bless and interesting...a CG lover, eh?;)

Chad---Thanks, Man! I love the CG. It's my Fav. Ya never know!!
Keep up the good work. GB, you too! ;)

Chad!
I am late for this party too!
The CG is not that popular in Germany. don't know why.

The only disadvantage I see is, when you want to carve wood (put a point to a wooden stick) or something.
In this case it is important to pay attention to Left / right.

But cutting with a CG on a plate with edge down, or cutting a line, belt etc with edge up... it doesn't matter it is CG or V ground!

Maybe, on model in the CLB product line, why not!
But how you are doin it... it'll be wrong. If you do it for a right hander, the lefties will shout out and opposite...

I was not sure about the la Griffe's by Perrin. Are these 440C bladesteel ones chiselground too?

Thanks, MOI and Maarten! ;)
I'm on a Folder kick!! :)
I found out Chad, likes the CG, but, we'll have to wait and see.

Maarten, it's quite simple, just like driving: stay away from the grass:D

You can regrind a CG into a regular V, though the other way round is possible, it will have to remove a lot of metal, i.e. a lot work.

I disagree . It will take some more grinding off approx 2 mm to take of the edge and start a new edge..
;)
