Clean a loaded balsa wood strop?

You can sand off the compound face down on a flat surface or grab a rag and "polish" it, basically wipe everything off or until they aren't clumping anymore

I haven't used a balsa strop, but I see no reason why you couldn't sand it. I do this, occasionally, with my loaded leather strops. If you've loaded it with diamond compound, and don't want to waste that, you might just wipe it down or blot it with a damp paper towel. With diamond, even if the strop is dirty, it should still be pretty effective.

I can think of a few possible ways to do this, but all of them seem silly compared to making a new strop. Balsa is cheap and easy to acquire here.

Is balsa tough to get where you are?

Sand with 220 follow with 600 then apply compound, no reason to waste.
