recently found couple of knives in a storage unit. 1 is 972 Puma Game Warden, the other is a Boker. 972 has original leather sheath. Both a little rough. Should I try to clean them up?

Depends what you mean by clean them up and what you intend to do with them after cleaning them up I guess.

If you mean get dirt and grime and rust off of them then absolutely clean them up. I would hesitate to say sharpen them up, some might include that in the clean up process, unless you are doing so to begin using them.

Eeeeehhhhhhhh, I mean it could go either way, really.

Don't over do it. Start with a tooth brush and warm soapy water. Q-tips for the inside. Then a rag and some mineral oil. 0000 steel wool for difficult rust. WD-40 to get all the water out and then a little oil in the pivots. Sharpen,use,repeat.--KV
