I've never owned a Schrade before and I had this knife given to me by my wife when her grandfather passed away. I know it's an LB7 but beyond that I don't know. To me it looks like a Buck 110.

I cleaned it up. Here are some before and after pictures. I'm going to poke around this forum and see if I can find anything out about this knife. It's really sturdy and has no blade play when locked up. It is a very nice old knife. I'm guessing it's from the 1980's but have no idea?

Nice one. I can't clearly read the serial number, but it seems to be X******, and has the Uncle Henry signature stamp. This would make it an early 1980's knife.

I don't find the UH signature stamp added until #X29369, a three pin. The pins went from four in the cover to three in the cover around serial #N35001. Serialization ceased circa 1989, possibly a bit earlier.

Hi Sew, if you search "LB7" in this forum, there is a great deal of information.
i have about 15 or so of these, all ebay buys in the last year, many less than $20. some are used and none have any blade play or problems.( not so for older 110s in my sample). just a great all 'round user knife. belongs in the "Knife Hall of Fame". roland

Wow you did a very nice job of cleaning it up. what did you use??
Mike

Thank you. I used some Nevr-Dull on the brass and metal parts, and used some mineral oil to lube it up (pivot etc.) and then I actually rubbed some mineral oil into the wood handles and then wiped them dry.

That "trick" really makes wood handles LIKE new I think
First I usually rub the wood with #0000 steel wool
Not sure if it makes a huge diff or not...
