I understand the LW Manix 2 is pinned. How do you go about cleaning and lubing the pivot area?

I put my kitchen frn endura in the dishwasher once, I took it no problem, but I did pull it out as soon as the cycle was done, I then oil the pivot. I think it's risky, but the steels used in the manix LW are highly corrosion resistant.

Hi Meron, just run the knife under warm soapy water until clean and shake dry. If you have something stubborn stuck in the pivot, you can loosen the pivot screw a half turn to allow space to flush it out, but that is rarely necessary. I have used my LW extensively cleaning fish and it has been full of blood and fish goo numerous times. The above steps have always worked fine.

Thanks, This is my first Spyderco. I usually carry different Kershaws and an ESEE Izula.

I carried one in Afghanistan, which is covered with super-fine dust. I'd run it under warm water for a few seconds, two or three times a week, dry it, then drop a drop or two of CLP near the pivot. No problems.

I've never washed any of my knives, usually just use some compressed air to clean out the lint. Maybe a little oil on the pivot, but don't over think it I've had one for years and never cleaned it.

A quick question, How do you completely dry a Manix2 LW that can't be taken apart?

In a very low humidity environment like Afghanistan, any residual moisture will evaporate quickly.
