I have a good friend who is a Falconer and flies Red Tail Hawks. I purchased a 110 Red Tail Hawk as a gift. The blade seems to have some sort of fuzzy coating. I'll try a soft cloth and water first. Is Flitz safe to use? It strikes me that Buck used to include a packet of Flitz with an etched knife years ago. How about brasso wadding?

Damp cloth and baking soda. Have used that in the past to clean old coins. Anything harsher devalues the coin. So it should be a safe place to start

I used a drop or two of rubbing alcohol on a soft cloth but most of the time ye ol favorite hot water and Dawn .

Flitz will remove Great Eastern Cutlery etchings same with Scatt & Morgan knives.
