Cleaning Blades

hey guys,
i went hiking today for about 4 hours and cut down a few "trees" with my younger sons Batac. It left alot of green and brown on it that wont come off with wiping. and before i clean it with soap and water i was just making sure i didnt need to do anything else to keep the rust from forming under the scales and on the blade. Thanks for all the help.

just make sure it is dry before storage or sheathing.

towel it off, dont let it air dry.
