Cleaning Canvas Micarta?

Forgive me for my ignorance but I have to ask. Is there a recommended way to clean canvas micarta. I have a handful of other micarta jobs but they are paper or linen, mostly paper. The RC-4 is my first canvas and I just want to make sure I don't fub the thing. In the past I've used dish soap and that works well but the canvas micarta on my RC-4, while being grippy and great feeling, is also very porous.

Im not super worried about it but I've noticed that in the past day since I've received and carried it that the tan/greenish scales have gotten pretty grody. Doesn't bother me much and it doesn't look all that bad, but I loved how great it looked fresh. Probably a consequence of my work environment but hey, what can ya do right?

I just use a scotchbrite pad and warm soapy water. You can also touch it back up with some sandpaper if its losing its grippyness...

Steaming hot water and a stiff tooth brush worked VERY well. Didn't even use soap. I figured I'd try with just really hot water first and thats all it took.
Guess that answers my question. Lol.

I use dawn and a scrubby thing my wife keeps next to the dawn and steaming hot water. When I'm done washing and rinsing, I dry the scales off with a hand towel. Always turns out just like brand new ones.

Yeah. Steaming hot water cleaned it really good. I wrapped them in a terry cloth towel and they were dry quick, I opened it up under a minute and they were nice and clean.
I took the scales off to clean them but probably wont do that again. I cleaned the red lock tight from the barrels and screws and replaced it with blue. I'd have put red but I was smooth out. lol..

Going to the gunshop today to see if I cant pick up some gun blue and a tek lok if they have any.

Starter fluid works great for me. A couple of shots and a shop rag cleans the handles pretty well. Brake parts cleaner also works but can leave a white residue.
