Cleaning G10?

I've just noticed that the handle of my BF Native looks rather soiled (well this is a user) and I was wondering what would be the best way to clean it. Funny, I've never noticed my black G10 knives looking dirty

.

I've also found that the CPM 440V blade gets more stained than my ATS34 blades. Any suggestions on ways to clean it which will not damage the BladeForums logo?

TIA

Agghh!!!! You already used it, Clay? hehehe!

I'm still keeping mine in pristine condition, at least until I can afford a second one, which will then be a user.

PS. Hmm, G10 does seem to get soiled easily, huh?

i took a fingernail brush and a drop of liquid dish soap to mine and it looks like new again. if you do this though dont forget to carfully dry and re oil the knife.

funny, my black g10 dosnt do this either....

I noticed the same sort of thing on my Native. Not too bad because I don't use it much, but I can definitely see it.

Scrubbing off the BF logo was a concern of mine also, though I seem to do okay with Tuff Cloth

I use an old toothbrush, and tooth paste to clean the G-10 when it goes nasty

. Just make sure you rinse it out well of the action - it is a mild abrasive. Toothpaste also gets rid of nasty odors from cleaning fish for example

.

I use a Tuff Cloth for the blade - works great, no stains yet

Thanks for all the replies. I was thinking of trying toothpaste, just have to be careful whose brush I grab..."sorry dear but... "

. I have avoided using TufCloth because I often use my knife to cut up fruit at work. Might have to stop taking it to work anyway as I find that, when I sharpen pencils (which I do a lot), the graphite marks the blade finish and gets caught in the logo etching. Or I suppose I can just carry 2 (or 3) knives

C'mon Dan, you have to use it

. It is just too good a knife to just look at.

It's just that I have other knives which could take the beating in place of the BF Native first, at least until I can get a second one. That's probably the only time I'll make it a daily carry.

Hmmm.. speaking of logos, are those laser-etched? or stamped? I wonder if it rubs off in time.

Okay Clay, you convinced me.. I'll start carrying it tomorrow.. IN A POUCH that says "hands off" hehehehehe!!

I can't use the concealex sheath that came with it, coz somehow I feel it scratches the blue clip. Maybe if it's all beaten up already, that's the time the sheath will be in full-time service.

Dan - Just cuz you're such a swell guy, I'LL volunteer to beat up your blue native for you!

Of course, it may take me a year or two!
