My tenacious keeps getting bits of dirt and metal as well as dust stuck where the blade pivots... i cant seem to get all of it out and it makes me twitch every time i hear it scrape the blade....

Is there a way to clean the knife and blade that's easily done?

You could try disassemble it and wipe it clean, the tenacious is fairly easy to take apart or you could blow it out with compressed air(easiest option).

Ditto.

If you don't want to take the knife apart, this is what I do: spray the inside with a good but gentle cleaner/lube (I use Breakfree CLP), work the pivot several times, and use compressed air to blow out the excess oil.

Repeat the above for about 2-3 times. Most of the time the tiny bits of dirt all comes out.

Im running into the same problem, I own a Gerber "Paul Series ii Model 2" it has a special locking mechanism on it , so its IMPOSSIBLE to take apart and clean correctly. There is a knife show in September that is 5 minutes away from me , its my 1st one that im attending , so Hopefully I can trade it or sell it and get something else, possible something by SOG or Benchmade or even spyderco...
