Ok, so I got my new RC-4 a few days ago. and have been using it hard in the woods(excellent little knife btw:thumbup:).
But now it is full of dirt and gunk from all the wood I' ve chopped, batoned and whittled with it and I can' t seem to get it clean.
I' ve tried regular soap & water and some lighter fluid, and nothing seemed to get the blade clean again. Any tips? How do you guys clean your RAT cutlery knives?
Oh btw. it' s the Desert tan version if that' s of any importance.

real coarse dish sponge and dish soap. the micarta and steel/finish will look like new after you dry it.

Alright, thanks guys, I' ll try that later.

Did I already mention I LOVE the knife, my first RAT ever:eek:

I use an old toothbrush and Bon Ami. I also remove the grip panels and clean under them and then oil the panel screws and barrels as I reassemble. Be careful not to cross thread when you re-assemble, especially until all the thread lock is gone. Tighten till snug but don't over tighten.

I have just used Dawn dishsoap and an old hard toothbrush.

The scales look new when it dries.

Yeah I'm a fan of Dawn and a toothbrush, SOS pad for the stuck stuff. BTW just got the same tan RC-44 and I like the look and feel so far, can't wait to use it.

It's OK Tripton don't let them hassel you too hard, My wife gets all pissy if I hang the RAT back over the mantle without cleaning it first too.
