It’s for a small pin. Some of the larger victorinox models come with it from factory but probably much any small diameter straight sewing pin with fit
It is for a single straight pin.
Thanks everyone.
same way that the toothpick and tweezers are held in place- a bit of frictionI'm not understanding how it doesn't just fall out.
FYI:
A Standard 1.5 inch/37mm straight pin with plastic ball fits just fine, and is much easier to remove than a standard flat end pin.
The ball end does not interfere with opening/closing the corkscrew or phillips "blade".![]()
Sorry. I "thought" they both have the same clearances. The picture in the first post shows a philips driver, not a corkscrew. A sewing pin with a plastic ball on the end won't fit in SAK models with the back side philips driver. There's no room for the ball when you close the philips.

I stand corrected.
I carry a Huntsman and I find having a pin pretty handy. I sharpen up the point every now and then as well.It can only slide out a little bit before it hits the base of the corkscrew/phillips. I usually bend my pin a little so it doesn't move around.
I still think ittle fit. Pin ball is smaller than disance to the scale.Yeah, having the philips kinda sucks if all you have are the ball ended pins, but on the plus side there is no way a normal pin will fall out when the philips is closed.

The phillips blade does clear the scale when opening and closing, right?
No Fieldmaster or other with screwdriver instead of corkscrew, with or without a pin hole, or I would.Well, try it.![]()

1/8 inch diameter. How about a measurement device? Measure the diameter of the ball. I can pull out one of my philips SAKs and measure the gap. We can compare numbers. I have to step out for a bit so I can't respond right away, but I'll be back later.
1/8 inch diameter.
No need. i believe you.Yeah there's no way, sadly. The space you have behind the phillips is definitely less than a 1/16 of an inch.
I picked up some assorted size sewing pins with the ball ends, and I can already tell by looking that there's no way any of them would fit. I can try some out and take pictures if you want.
