Cleaning off melted paracord

I was adding a lanyard to a Kumo a few nights ago (neon orange as a "Oh darn, I dropped my knife on the forest floor" precaution). When it came time to heat the ends of the cord, I first used a soldering iron which worked quite well, but left melted paracord on metal. Anyone have any recommendations for getting it off?

You should be able to pick it off with your nail , or maybe a stout little wedge of wood with an edge.
