As I prefer kydex over leather, and I have some nice works from BuyBrown, David E. and Mashed Cat, I just wonder how to clean them properly. is there a " special" method, or just good old hot water and detergent? David's sheats are easy as I can separate the bended kydex.
what are your ways? ...if there are any.

I don't know if there is technically a proper way. I have always just use soap and water to flush out the grit inside as much as possible. This is followed by a generous blast of compressed air to dry it out. I am curious to find out the right way to do it ;)

I don't know anything about caring for kydex, but one idea is maybe consider using pipe cleaners to make sure you get the debris out?

I start by buying nothing without a big ass drain hole, then a small bottle brush with warm soapy water. I don't own an air compressor so I just hang mine to dry. I have found that hot saopy water will do a good job for everything but serious grit that has embedded itself in the plastic. When that happens, I would bet even those fancy rigs DavidE makes won't let you get it all out.
