Hi all. I am not sure what forum this would be best served, but if it needs to be moved, then so be it. I am in the Army at Ft. Rucker, AL. I have my Dad's M8 scabbard from WWII. It has some rust on the steel parts at the top where it is marked USM8. What is the best way to remove this rust without destroying the scabbard? Thanks!

Can't see how much rust you have on the scabbard, but here's a simple trick I use to take rust spots off of blades: get a hard graphite lead pencil and use the tip to dig out and rub off the rust. Then rub it all off with a paper towel or cotton cloth. It will take the rust out and it will not damage the surrounding metal or finish. I like to do this when I'm trying to read a rusty old tang stamp on an old folder at a flea market.
