Cleaning Spyderco Diamond Rods

I finally broke down and bought a set of diamond rods, coincident with my deduction that the "B" in BG-42 refers to the fact that it's a B!tch to sharpen. Well, to be fair, I'm reprofiling it. Anyway, I know I need to be "gentle" with the diamond rods so I don't scrape all the diamond dust out of them when I'm sharpening. But how do you guys clean the diamond rods? I suppose the green scrubby pad and scouring powder I use for the gray and white rods are not a good idea for these delicate diamonds.

Thank you.

I don't own any diamond rods so maybe my question will appear silly to the ones who do, but, is it possible to ruin the diamond dust when you're not gentle?

No but you can break the diamonds out of the Ni in which they are anchored (at least DMT does them that way). I don't think you need to worry about cleaning them much. DMT recommends to scrub their stones with a toothbrush once in a while.

Thanks HoB, that makes sense. I suppose they can't really get "clogged" the way a ceramic or natural stone could.
