cleaning up a buck blade with an etching question

I picked up a used 110 today that needs some tlc. The blade is etched. Will Flitz or Mothers harm the etching (take any of the etching off)? If so what would you use?

If it's silk screened on or inked on it will take it off. DM

They call the inked blades padprint and like David said that will be chemicaly removed by some cleaners. In addition, some cleaners will harm the gold on gold etched blades. Is the blade mirror polished?

Thanks John. I'll pad-print. The Alaskan Guide blade emblem looked to be painted on. This can also be removed by abrasive rubbing. DM
