Cleaning up thread ofter HT

Was wondering how one cleans up thread on a hidden tang construction. The surface is no problem, but inside the groves that's where I like to get it all shinny.

Reason for this is that I just finished a dagger on which everything comes appart. All is finished to 400 grit by hand, only the threaded end looks dark and I don't like this.

Any help apreachiated.

Thomas give me a call tomorrow I will be at home and I will give you some stuff that is like steel wool but it is made specially for buffing up on the lathe, it should fit into the minor diameter of the thread
